Emma is a sophomore from New York studying Psychological & Brain Sciences with minors in Writing and Film. Generally, she is interested in learning about personality, behavior, identity, and the process of aging. In her free time, Emma may be found talking about TV and movies, listening to music, eating good food, and hanging around with friends!
Born and raised in St. Louis, Sarah is a sophomore majoring in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology on the cognitive neuroscience track. She hopes to pursue a graduate degree in clinical psychology and a career in behavioral therapy. Her interest in personality psychology began in high school when the book Quiet by Susan Cain inspired her to complete a research project evaluating the relationship between extroverted personality and success in the modern workplace. Currently, she is interested in learning more about social interactions between introverts and extroverts, as well as between neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals. Outside of academics, she loves playing volleyball and the violin.
Sharon is a junior from Los Angeles majoring in Psychology with minors in Design and Marketing. She started research in the Emotion and Relationships Lab and is excited to begin working in the PATH lab! Sharon is interested in psychopathology and mental health-related issues. She loves Pokemon cards and cats and will ask to see pictures if you have either.
Whitney is a sophomore from Shanghai, China, studying Psychological & Brain Sciences and Educational Studies with a minor in Children’s Studies. She is interested in learning about aging, relationships, personality, and emotion regulation. She loves dancing, listening to music, playing tennis, and traveling in her free time.
Olivia is a junior from New York City studying Public Health and Jewish Islamic Middle Eastern Studies. She’s interested in learning about community support networks as a tool for improving wellbeing, along with what can impact and affect their efficacy. Further, she is passionate about educating herself and others on sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing. When not engaged with school, she loves being outside, swimming in natural bodies of water, reading, arts and crafts, and long walks.
Charlie is a rising Junior from New York studying Psychological & Brain Sciences: Cognitive Neuroscience. He is broadly interested in how learning disabilities and mental health shape adolescent development and well-being, and how psychological processes relate to underlying brain systems. Outside of the classroom, Charlie is involved in Uncle Joe's Peer Counseling and enjoys working out, playing basketball, and going for runs with friends. After WashU, Charlie hopes to pursue a graduate degree in clinical psychology with a focus on adolescents.
Ava is a sophomore from Texas studying Psychological & Brain Sciences and Drama. PATH Lab is her first research experience as an undergraduate student. She is especially interested in child development and learning development through the lifespan. When not thinking about psychology, Ava spends her time drawing, writing Student Life articles, and singing, acting, or dancing for WashU’s performing arts department (PAD) and choir. She loves animated media, Tyler the Creator, anything “vintage,” baking, all animals, and indie or life simulator video games like Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life.
